Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lb. lean beef, cut into large cubes
  • 6 carrots, sliced in large pieces
  • 1 c. celery, sliced in large pieces
  • 3 onions, diced
  • 3 Tbsp. tapioca
  • salt to taste
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes with juice
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder

Method

  • Put all ingredients in Dutch oven or baking dish.
  • Cover and cook in a 250° oven for at least 5 hours.
  • Three large potatoes may be cut up and added during the last hour or so of cooking, depending on the kind of potatoes used (new or old).
