Ingredients
- 1 pound fresh green beans
- 1 small ham hock
- 1 cup water
- 1 3/4 cups peeled, seeded, and coarsely chopped tomato
- 1/3 cup canned ready-to-serve chicken broth
- 1/3 cup Chablis or other dry white wine
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon dried whole thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Method
- Wash beans; trim ends, and remove strings. Combine beans, ham hock, and water in a large saucepan. Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 20 minutes. Stir in tomato and remaining ingredients. Cover and cook over low heat 10 minutes or until beans are tender.
