Ingredients
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 12 cup shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 12 cups flour
- 12 teaspoon baking soda
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup black walnut, chopped
- granulated sugar, for dipping
Method
- Cream sugar and shortening until light.
- Add egg and vanilla; beat.
- Add dry ingredients and nuts; mix.
- Dip fingers in sugar, then make a small ball (size of a walnut).
- Dip in sugar, and press down onto a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 12- 15 minutes at 375 degrees F.
