Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1/8 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. liquid smoke
  • 2 Tbsp. water
  • 1 lb. meat (should be flank, lean roast, brisket or we use deer steaks)

Method

  • Cut meat into 1/4-inch strips.
  • Works better if meat is a little frozen.
  • Mix ingredients.
  • Marinate strips of meat overnight, mixing once or twice. Turn oven on to slowest temperature. Dry on oven rack for 3 or more hours or until meat is dark and cracks when it is bent.
  • Remove and cool.
  • Store in airtight container.
