Ingredients

  • 3 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 5 Tbsp. water
  • 1/4 tsp. salt or less
  • 2 2/3 c. Crisco
  • 1 1/3 c. water
  • 8 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt

Method

  • Add
  • boiling
  • water to
  • Crisco.
  • Beat
  • until
  • water
  • is absorbed.
  • Add flour and salt in
  • two cup, then one cup intervals. Blend well after
  • each
  • addition.
  • The final cup should be added slowly, depending on
  • the humidity.
  • You may not need a full cup. If you don't
  • use
  • it all immediately wrap in wax paper to refrigerate.
  • Allow to come to room temperature after refrigeration.
