Ingredients
- 3 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- 5 Tbsp. water
- 1/4 tsp. salt or less
- 2 2/3 c. Crisco
- 1 1/3 c. water
- 8 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Method
- Add
- boiling
- water to
- Crisco.
- Beat
- until
- water
- is absorbed.
- Add flour and salt in
- two cup, then one cup intervals. Blend well after
- each
- addition.
- The final cup should be added slowly, depending on
- the humidity.
- You may not need a full cup. If you don't
- use
- it all immediately wrap in wax paper to refrigerate.
- Allow to come to room temperature after refrigeration.
