- 1/2 lb. bacon, cut in 1-inch pieces
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/4 c. catsup
- 1/4 c. barbecue sauce
- 2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1 (16 oz.) can butter beans
- 1 (16 oz.) kidney beans
- 1 (31 oz.) pork and beans
- 1 (16 oz.) navy beans
Method
- Brown bacon in frying pan.
- Remove and drain fat, then brown hamburger and onion.
- Fry until beef is fully cooked.
- Drain off fat.
- Drain liquid from butter beans and kidney beans only.
- Blend seasonings, catsup and barbecue sauce.
- Add to hamburger mixture, then add beans.
- Bake in large casserole for 1 hour at 350°. Serves 10 to 12 (freezes well).
