Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. bacon, cut in 1-inch pieces
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 1/4 c. catsup
  • 1/4 c. barbecue sauce
  • 2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (16 oz.) can butter beans
  • 1 (16 oz.) kidney beans
  • 1 (31 oz.) pork and beans
  • 1 (16 oz.) navy beans

Method

  • Brown bacon in frying pan.
  • Remove and drain fat, then brown hamburger and onion.
  • Fry until beef is fully cooked.
  • Drain off fat.
  • Drain liquid from butter beans and kidney beans only.
  • Blend seasonings, catsup and barbecue sauce.
  • Add to hamburger mixture, then add beans.
  • Bake in large casserole for 1 hour at 350°. Serves 10 to 12 (freezes well).
