Ingredients
- 1 (14 oz.) bottle ketchup
- 1/2 c. chili sauce
- 1/3 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 10 to 15 dashes of Tabasco hot sauce
- 3 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 2 c. water
- 1 beef roast (I use sirloin tip or round, 5 lb. or more)
Method
- Cook beef in oven until medium done; slice.
- Layer slices in pan.
- Combine all ingredients, except beef, and bring to a boil and pour over meat.
- Continue cooking meat until very tender, 2 to 4 hours at 300°.
- Baste with sauce.
- Add more water if sauce gets too thick.
- May be prepared ahead and frozen.
- Excellent for serving a large group or holiday meal.
