Ingredients

  • 2 c. graham cracker crumbs (reserve 1/4 c.)
  • 3 to 4 bananas
  • 1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream (rectangular box is easier)
  • 1 c. chopped walnuts
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine
  • 2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. whipped cream

Method

  • Cover the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan with crumbs.
  • Slice bananas and layer over crumbs.
  • Slice ice cream into 1/2-inch slices and layer evenly.
  • Sprinkle with nuts.
  • Freeze until firm!
  • Melt chocolate chips and butter.
  • Add powdered sugar and evaporated milk.
  • Cook until thick and smooth.
  • Cool.
  • Pour over ice cream and nuts.
  • Freeze until firm!
  • Cover with whipped cream and top with the crumbs.
  • Remove from the freezer 1/2 hour before serving. This can be stored several weeks in the freezer.
