Ingredients

  • pastry for a 9-inch 2 crust pie
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 4 c. sliced cooking apples (such as Jonathan, Golden Delicious or Winesap)
  • 2 c. fresh or frozen cranberries (whole or chopped)
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine

Method

  • Prepare the pastry; divide into 2 portions.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out one portion of pastry.
  • Fit into a 9-inch pie plate.
  • Trim pastry 1/2 inch beyond edge of pie plate. Roll out remaining pastry for top crust; cover and set aside.
