Ingredients
- 1 cane sugar cube
- 2 dashes orange Curacao
- 1 grapefruit peel
- 2 ounces rye whiskey
- 1 large ice cube
Method
- In the bottom of a double old fashioned glass douse the sugar cube with Curacao. Give it a good whack to break it apart.
- Muddle the grapefruit peel-peel side down-into the sugar. Do this for a minute or two to release the oils. The sugar should be syrupy by the time you're finished.
- Add the whiskey and a large ice cube and stir using a cocktail stirrer: 30 spins in one direction then 30 spins in the opposite direction.
- Serve in glass.
