Ingredients

  • 4 c. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. wild rice
  • 1 c. long grain rice
  • 1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
  • fresh ground black pepper

Method

  • In small saucepan, bring 2 1/2 cups of water to a boil and stir in 1/2 teaspoon of the salt and the wild rice.
  • Lower the heat and simmer 45 minutes.
  • About halfway through cooking time, bring the remaining water to a boil in a separate saucepan, then add the remaining salt and the long grain rice.
  • Bring to a boil and lower heat to simmer for about 18 minutes.
