Ingredients
- 1 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. water
- 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 egg white, beaten stiff
Method
- Put sugar, water and cream of tartar in pan.
- Stir until sugar is dissolved and bring to boil.
- Add 2 tablespoons syrup to beaten egg whites, beating constantly after adding each spoonful.
- Boil syrup until it spins a long thread when dropped from a spoon. Pour gradually on egg whites, beating until mixture forms peaks. Flavor with vanilla or almond.
