Ingredients

  • 2 quarts beef broth
  • 1 (15 ounce) can navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 12 ounces chicken, cubed
  • 8 ounces ham, diced
  • 1 cup cubed red potatoes
  • 1 cup cut green beans
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped leek
  • 1/2 cup sliced carrot
  • 1/2 cup celery
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 cup asparagus spear
  • salt and pepper

Method

  • Combine all ingredients except asparagus in slow cooker. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours, adding asparagus during last 30 minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
