Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter, softened
  • 1/2 c. pecan halves
  • 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1 pkg. pie crust mix
  • 2/3 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 6 c. pared, sliced tart cooking apples (I like Granny Smith)
  • margarine or butter

Method

  • Heat oven to 450°.
  • Line pie plate, 9 x 1 1/4-inch, with a 14-inch circle of foil.
  • Spread 2 tablespoons margarine over foil. Press pecan halves, rounded sides down, on foil; sprinkle with brown sugar.
