- 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter, softened
- 1/2 c. pecan halves
- 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
- 1 pkg. pie crust mix
- 2/3 c. granulated sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 6 c. pared, sliced tart cooking apples (I like Granny Smith)
- margarine or butter
Method
- Heat oven to 450°.
- Line pie plate, 9 x 1 1/4-inch, with a 14-inch circle of foil.
- Spread 2 tablespoons margarine over foil. Press pecan halves, rounded sides down, on foil; sprinkle with brown sugar.
