Ingredients

  • 2 Tablespoons Canola Oil
  • 1 whole Small Yellow Onion, Chopped
  • 1/4 cups Milk
  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs (not Panko)
  • 3/4 cups Tomato Sauce, Unflavored, Divided
  • 4 teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce, Divided
  • 1 pound Ground Beef
  • 8 ounces, weight Ground Breakfast Sausage
  • 1 whole Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Montreal (or Other) Steak Seasoning, Or To Taste
  • 1/2 teaspoons Garlic Powder

Method

  • 1.
  • Saute onion in oil until tender.
  • Transfer to large bowl.
  • 2.
  • Combine milk and bread crumbs in small bowl.
  • Set aside.
  • 3.
  • Combine 1/4c tomato sauce and 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce in another small bowl.
  • Set aside.
  • 4.
  • Add ground beef, sausage, remaining tomato sauce and Worcestershire sauce, egg, seasoning mix, garlic powder and breadcrumb mixture into the onion bowl.
  • Mix until just incorporated.
  • 5.
  • Mount mixture into a 9x5x3 loaf pan.
  • Bake 45 minutes.
  • 6.
  • Remove from oven and pour off some fat.
  • 7.
  • Spread set aside tomato mixture on top.
  • 8.
  • Bake until internal temperature is 160 degrees (about 30 more minutes).
  • 9.
  • Let stand for 15 minutes before serving.
  • ** if you arent watching your sugar intake, you can substitute prepared ketchup for canned tomato sauce.
