Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 c. cooked turkey or possibly chicken
  • 1/4 c. onion
  • 1/2 c. green pepper
  • 6 slices cubed wheat bread
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 3/4 c. lowfat milk
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • Grated cheese

Method

  • Cut bread into cubes and put in buttered pan.
  • Mix meat, onion and pepper and put on top of bread cubes.
  • Beat Large eggs, lowfat milk and salt.
  • Take more bread and remove sides and crust.
  • Layer these pcs on top of the meat.
  • Pour lowfat milk and egg mix over top.
  • Let stand overnight.
  • Spread soup over this before baking.
  • Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees.
  • During the last 5 min put grated cheese on top and allow to heat.
