Ingredients

  • 4 ripe avocados, peeled and seeded
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 5 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 -2 tablespoon chopped jalapenos with juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • 3 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 8 cups chicken broth, chilled
  • salt and pepper
  • chopped green onion

Method

  • Process the avocados, garlic 4 green onions, cilantro, jalapenos and Tabasco sauce in a blender until smooth.
  • Add the sour cream. Process until blended.
  • Pour into a large bowl. Stir in the buttermilk and chicken broth. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Chill covered, for several hours.
  • Ladle into soup bowls. Sprinkle with chopped green onions.
