Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 lb. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • dash of black pepper
  • 1 1/2 doz. eggs
  • 1/2 c. oil

Method

  • Beat eggs well.
  • Add
  • dry ingredients. Add oil and mix all together until dough
  • is smooth.
  • Cut into pieces and form into circles
  • with
  • slits
  • horizontal
  • on
  • sides.
  • Drop into boiling water and cook
  • until
  • light and float to top.
  • Remove from water and allow to
  • cool.
  • Then
  • should be hard; if they are soggy, reboil.
  • Bake at
  • 400°
  • on a rack for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
