Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 lb. beef boneless round tip or chuck steak
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes, undrained
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 1 large green pepper, sliced

Method

  • Mix flour, mustard and salt.
  • Sprinkle one side of beef steak with half the mixture.
  • Pound in.
  • Repeat on other side.
  • Cut beef into 6 pieces.
  • Heat oil in 10-inch skillet.
  • Cook beef over medium heat until brown.
  • Add tomatoes and garlic.
  • Break up tomatoes.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and cover.
  • Simmer until beef is tender (approximately 1 1/4 hours).
