Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 2 lb. round steak
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 3 bouillon cubes, dissolved in 2 c. hot water
  • 1 c. sour cream

Method

  • Saute mushrooms and onions in 2 tablespoons butter; remove from pan. Trim fat and bone from steak. Cut into strips.
  • Melt additional butter (2 tablespoons) in pan. Toss strips of meat in flour. Brown meat in butter. Add salt and bouillon cubes. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until meat is tender, about 1 1/4 hours. Add mushrooms, onions and sour cream. Heat and serve over noodles or rice. Serves 6.
