Ingredients

  • 7 chicken wings
  • 1 Tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp chicken stock
  • 1 pinch salt and pepper
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 piece ginger

Method

  • Season the chicken wings with salt and pepper.
  • Put them into a pot with a little oil and fry until the chicken browns, then add the sliced ginger.
  • When the ginger starts to smell good, add the Shaoxing wine, sugar, chicken stock, salt, pepper, and water.
  • Boil for about 20 minutes on medium heat until the soup is almost completely reduced.
  • This is delicious to serve with vegetables, such as sliced cabbage, lettuce or bok choy.
  • Put the chicken wings on the vegetables and pour the rest of sauce on the top.
