Ingredients
- 1 qt. red cabbage
- 2 Tbsp. butter or bacon fat
- 2 Tbsp. wine vinegar
- salt and pepper
- 2 tart apples
- 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
Method
- Shred cabbage fine.
- Add salt, pepper and sliced apples.
- Heat fat in heavy skillet and add cabbage and apples.
- Pour boiling water over to cover and cook until tender.
- Sprinkle flour over cabbage and add sugar and vinegar.
- Let simmer a little longer.
