Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream (reserve 1/4 cup to thin fondue if it's to thick)
  • 1 bag Bittersweet Chocolate Baking Chips (~ 12oz)
  • 2 tablespoons Amaretto liqueur (optional)

Method

  • Slice and arrange your favorite dippables in piles on a platter. When done, heat 1/2 cup cream in a sauce-pot or fondue pot (if designed for stove use) over moderate heat until cream just begins to boil. Remove the pot from heat and add chocolate chips. Let chocolate chips stand in hot cream for 3 to 5 minutes to soften, then stir/whisk chocolate together with the cream. Stir in liqueur. If fondue is too thick, stir in reserved cream, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached. Transfer to fondue pot (if needed), and serve above a small lit candle along side platter of dippables and fondue forks for dipping.
