Ingredients

  • 6 medium green peppers
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/3 c. chopped onion (optional)
  • 3/4 c. tomato sauce
  • 3 c. (heaping) cooked rice
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 c. American or Velveeta cheese
  • salt

Method

  • Cut off tops of peppers; remove seeds and membrane.
  • Wash and lightly salt inside of peppers.
  • While cooking rice, brown hamburger and onion in a large skillet.
  • Season with salt and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Add cooked rice, tomato sauce and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted.
  • Stuff peppers full and top with rest of the tomato sauce.
  • Bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until peppers are very tender.
