Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 to 2 bunches green onions, cleaned and chopped (green part only)
  • 1 seedless cucumber, grated and squeezed to remove excess liquid
  • salt
  • 5 eggs, hard-boiled and cut into fourths lengthwise
  • 2 large tomatoes, cleaned without skin and cut in long cubes
  • 2 (1/4 to 1/2-inch thick) slices Bavarian smoked ham, edges removed and cut into long strips (or equivalent)
  • 6 to 8 pickles, peeled and cut in long slices (prefer Vlasic deli dills)

Method

  • Mix together cream cheese, green onions and grated cucumbers and salt well.
  • Consistency should be that of easily spreadable cream cheese.
  • Set aside.
