Ingredients

  • 8 whole Bosc Pears
  • 1 bag 12 Oz Berry Blend Frozen Berries
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 cup Minute Maid Pomegranate Blueberry Juice
  • 1 stick Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch

Method

  • Peel the pears, half them and take the core out. Put the bag of frozen berries in a pot and add the juice and sugar. Add the pears and the cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil over medium heat then lower the heat and simmer for 2 hours.
  • Take the pears out the pot and put into your serving bowl. Press the berries through a sieve into your serving bowl.
  • If you like the juice thick, then remove a bit of the juice from your pot. Mix 1 Tablespoon of cornstarch with this little bit of juice then pour it in with the rest of the juice, bring the juice to boil again until it thickens.
  • Pour the juice over the pears and berries. You can serve this as a side dish or use it for a dessert. You can add it to yoghurt or ice cream. The juice can also be used for another great Dutch recipe Griesmeel met Bessensap.
