Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. Chinese cabbage
- 1 (12 oz.) can bamboo shoots
- 1/2 lb. lean pork or boneless chicken breast
- 2 Tbsp. dark soy sauce
- 1/2 c. peanut, vegetable or corn oil
- 1 tsp. sugar
Method
- Separate leaves of cabbage and cut one leaf at a time into thirds.
- Pile the thirds atop one another and slice lengthwise into fine shreds about 2 inches long.
- Drain bamboo shoots; drop into boiling water and simmer 5 minutes to remove canned flavor. Drain, cool and slice into thin strips like the cabbage.
- Thinly slice and shred the pork or chicken.
- Place into bowl with soy sauce, stirring to coat.
