Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 c. sliced onion
- 1 c. sliced carrots
- 1 c. sliced turnips
- 1 c. sliced celery
- 1 c. sliced potatoes
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 c. water
- 2 chicken bouillon cubes
- 1 c. milk or cream
Method
- Melt butter in a deep heavy pot.
- Add all the sliced vegetables.
- Cover tightly and stew over low heat for 20 minutes. Chop cooked vegetables; add water.
- Bring to a boil and simmer 20 minutes.
