Ingredients
- 6 None onions, peeled, 2 finely diced, 4 finely sliced
- 4 None rib-eye steaks
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 80 g butter
- 1 tbsp plain flour
- 300 ml beef broth
- 2-3 tbsp whiskey
Method
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in 2 separate frying pans. Sear steaks for 10 mins, until browned on both sides. Season then set aside. Meanwhile, heat 2 1/2 tbsp butter in a saucepan. Saute sliced onions then cover and cook for 10 mins, stirring occasionally. Season.
- Add diced onions to a frying pan and dust with flour. Saute. Deglaze the other pan with stock and whiskey. Add sauteed diced onions and simmer for 5 mins. Add remaining butter. Season.
