Ingredients
- 1 head cabbage
- 1/2 c. celery
- 1/2 c. onion
- 1 carrot, shredded
- 3 or 4 potatoes, diced
- 1/2 c. butter, melted
- 4 to 6 c. water
- 1/2 lb. bacon or ham, diced
Method
- Melt butter in large soup pot.
- Add celery, onions and carrots.
- Saute for 5 minutes, then add 2 tablespoons of flour into butter mixture until smooth.
- Add water.
- Then add bacon or ham for flavor.
- Add cabbage and potatoes.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Simmer until well done.
