Ingredients
- 2 lb. butternut or acorn squash (about 2 small)
- 1/4 c. margarine, melted
- 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp. ground mace
- 1 Tbsp. plain all-purpose flour
- 2 c. cooking apples, cut into 1/2-inch slices
- 1 tsp. salt
Method
- Cut each squash in half lengthwise.
- Remove seeds.
- Peel and cut into 1/2-inch slices.
- Arrange in a lightly greased 8 x 12 x 2-inch baking dish. Top with apple slices.
- Combine remaining ingredients, mixing well. Spoon over apple slices.
- Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until squash is tender. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
