Ingredients

  • 2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach or 2 cans spinach
  • 2 Tbsp. onion
  • 4 Tbsp. melted margarine
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 c. spinach juice
  • 1/2 c. evaporated milk
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 3/4 tsp. garlic salt
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 16 oz. jalapeno cheese, cut in pieces
  • buttered bread crumbs

Method

  • Cook spinach according to directions.
  • Drain and reserve juice. Saute onion in butter until tender.
  • Add flour; stir until blended and smooth.
  • Slowly add juice and milk, stirring constantly.
  • Cook until smooth and thick.
  • Add pepper, garlic salt, Worcestershire sauce and cheese.
  • Stir until cheese melts.
