Ingredients
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 c. vegetable oil
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 2 cans tomatoes
- 2 cans tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. basil leaves, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. parsley
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1 1/2 c. water
Method
- Saute onion and garlic in oil until soft.
- In large pot, brown beef.
- Pour off all but 2 tablespoons fat.
- Stir in tomatoes, paste, water, sugar, basil, parsley, salt and pepper. Simmer, uncovered, stirring frequently for 45 minutes or until sauce thickens.
