Ingredients
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. sour cream
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 2 1/2 c. walnuts, filberts or pecans
Method
- In a heavy saucepan, mix sugar, sour cream and salt.
- Bring to a boil and cook, stirring to soft ball (236° on candy thermometer).
- Remove from heat and add vanilla.
- Beat until mixture begins to thicken and loses its gloss.
- Add nuts and stir quickly to coat all sides.
- Turn out on greased cookie sheets and separate nuts.
- Makes about 1 1/8 pounds.
