Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb. round steak
- 1/2 lb. butter
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can tomato soup
- 1 c. sour cream
- 1 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
Method
- Cut meat in thin strips, trim excess fat.
- Brown meat and mushrooms in butter.
- Add onions; combine soup and tomato paste. Add seasonings.
- Add this to meat mixture.
- Cover and simmer for about 1 hour or until meat is tender.
- Just before serving, stir in sour cream and thicken gravy, if desired.
- Serve in ring of fluffy rice or over noodles.
- Serves 8 to 10.
