Ingredients
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. shortening
- 1/2 c. water
- shortening for frying
Method
- Sift all dry ingredients together.
- Work in shortening and lukewarm water to make a soft dough.
- Chill in refrigerator.
- Roll out dough on floured surface to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Cut into 2 inch squares.
- Deep fry in hot shortening at 400° a few at a time.
- Brown on each side and drain on paper towel.
- Serve hot. To eat, break open and pour in honey or use honey butter.
