Ingredients

  • smoked sausages
  • chicken broth (13 1/4 oz.)
  • mustard
  • mustard seed
  • onions
  • cabbage
  • apples
  • sweet potatoes, peeled and cut in 1/2-inch chunks

Method

  • Stir chicken broth and mustard in a deep skillet.
  • Add mustard seed and bring to a boil.
  • Add sweet potatoes and onions; reduce heat to medium.
  • Cover and cook about 5 minutes, until potatoes are almost tender.
  • Add sausage and cabbage.
  • Cover and cook 15 minutes longer, until potatoes are tender and cabbage is crisp-tender. Stir in apple.
  • Cover and simmer additional 3 minutes until apple is crisp-tender.
