Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 to 2 lb. beef round steak, cut into strips (may use cubed steak)
  • 1/4 c. soy sauce
  • 1 garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1 c. onion
  • 4 tomatoes, chopped, or 1 (16 oz.) can diced tomatoes and liquid
  • 2 large green peppers
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch

Method

  • Saute steak in a little oil and put into a slow cooker.
  • Mix together soy sauce, minced garlic, sugar, salt, pepper and ground ginger and pour over meat in slow cooker.
  • Add onion, tomatoes and green pepper to slow cooker.
  • Cook on low for one hour.
  • Stir in water mixed with cornstarch.
  • Cook on high until thickened.
  • Serve over noodles or rice.
