Ingredients

  • 1 lb. raw shrimp, peeled and cleaned
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 1 (6 oz.) can mushrooms or fresh
  • 1 Tbsp. flour (plain)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • dash of cayenne pepper
  • 1 c. dairy sour cream
  • 1 1/2 c. cooked rice

Method

  • Saute shrimp and onion in margarine for 5 to 10 minutes or until shrimp are pink and tender.
  • Add mushrooms and cook 5 minutes more.
  • Sprinkle in flour, salt and pepper.
  • Stir in sour cream and cook on low heat for 10 minutes or until thick.
  • Be careful that mixture does not come to a boil.
  • Serve over rice. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
