Ingredients
- 2 small pkg. chopped okra
- 1 large onion
- 3 or 4 stalks celery
- 2 or 3 cloves garlic
- 1 large bell pepper
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 can tomatoes
Method
- Brown okra with a little oil, stirring often until a little brown and dry, at least 30 minutes.
- Be careful not to burn; add onion, bell pepper and celery.
- After it browns, add a little water, salt, pepper and tomatoes.
- Add raw shrimp; simmer a long while.
- Serve over rice.
