Ingredients
- 1 lb. butter (let stand overnight at room temperature)
- 1 c. cornstarch
- 1 1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
- 3 c. sifted flour
Method
- Preheat oven to 300°.
- Cream butter until light and fluffy. Blend in sugar and beat well.
- Add cornstarch and blend.
- Then add flour a little at a time until blended.
- Pat dough into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Prick well with a fork.
- Can be sprinkled with colored sugar, if desired.
- Bake for 1 hour or until set.
- Turn off oven.
- Cut into squares with sharp knife.
- Return to oven for 15 minutes to dry edges.
- Remove from pan when cool.
- Dough may be rolled into 1-inch balls and flattened.
- Bake until done.
