Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. ladyfingers
  • 1 pkg. plain gelatin
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1/2 c. sugar plus 1/2 c. sugar (each 1/2 used at a different time)
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. sherry
  • 4 eggs whites
  • 1/2 pt. whipped cream
  • shavings of chocolate

Method

  • Line two pie pans with ladyfingers.
  • Dissolve gelatin in cold water.
  • Beat egg yolks, sugar, salt and sherry.
  • Put in double boiler and cook until thick.
  • Add to gelatin.
  • Beat egg whites and the other 1/2 cup sugar until glossy.
  • Fold into mixture.
  • Pour into pie pans.
  • Let cool.
  • Top with whipped cream.
  • Sprinkle chocolate shavings on top!
