Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 2 1/4 c. warm water
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 c. whole wheat flour
  • 5 to 6 c. all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp. sesame seed

Method

  • Mix 2 cups flour, yeast, sugar, ginger and salt in a large bowl.
  • Mix 1 tablespoon of the beaten egg with 1 tablespoon water in a small bowl.
  • Set aside to be used later for glaze.
  • Add the remaining eggs, 2 1/4 cups warm water and oil to flour mixture. Beat in 4 cups of all-purpose flour and 1 cup whole wheat flour.
