Ingredients

  • 1 lb. Italian sausage, cut into 1-inch slices
  • 1 (32 oz.) jar spaghetti sauce
  • 1 lb. onions, boiled, drained and halved
  • 2 1/2 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • 8 oz. zita, cooked and drained
  • 1 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • In large saucepan, thoroughly brown sausage; drain fat.
  • Add next 3 ingredients; simmer 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Pour mixture over zita which has been placed in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  • Bake covered for 25 minutes. Uncover and top with cheese.
  • Bake 10 minutes or until bubbly.
