Ingredients

  • 12 oz sausage, sliced (I use chicken sausage from a natural foods store, but you can use whatever kind you prefer)
  • 1 lb linguine
  • 4 slice bacon, diced
  • 1 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1 crushed red pepper (to taste)
  • 1/2 lemon juiced & zested
  • 2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes

Method

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  • Prepare linguine.
  • In a large saute pan, cook sausage and bacon.
  • Remove sausage and bacon, leave drippings in the pan.
  • Stir in chicken broth and seasonings, continue cooking until liquid is reduced by half.
  • Stir in lemon zest and juice.
  • Stir in heavy cream and simmer until it coats the back of a spoon.
  • Stir in diced tomatoes.
  • Toss bacon, sausage and linguine in sauce until thick and sticks to noodles.
