Ingredients
- 1 lb. mild Italian sausage, cut into 1 inch links
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 2 apples, peeled and quartered
- 1 can sauerkraut, undrained (I use Del Monte)
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tsp. caraway seeds
Method
- In a skillet, cook sausage and onion until sausage is brown and onion is tender, drain.
- Stir in apples, sauerkraut, water, brown sugar and caraway seeds.
- Transfer to a 2 1/2 qt. baking dish.
- Cover and bake at 350 degrees for one hour.
- Garnish with parsley, if desired.
- Make 6 to 8 servings.
