Ingredients

  • 1 c. unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 1/3 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp. water
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 c. finely chopped pecans
  • 1/4 c. confectioners sugar

Method

  • Preheat oven to 325°.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
  • Beat until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the water and the vanilla.
  • Blend in the flour 1/2 cup at a time. Add the pecans and mix well.
  • Shape the dough into 1-inch balls. Place them about 1 1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 20 minutes.
  • Transfer to wire racks to cool.
  • When cookies are cool, roll in confectioners sugar.
