Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 6 c. plain flour

Method

  • In a large bowl, combine sugar, salt and shortening.
  • Add boiling water and stir until shortening melts.
  • Add beaten eggs. Stir.
  • Add 3 cups of flour and mix well.
  • In 1 cup of warm water, dissolve the yeast.
  • Add to first mixture, then add 3 more cups of flour.
  • Mix well and refrigerate overnight.
  • Place rolls in greased pan and let rise 2 to 3 hours.
