Ingredients

  • 1 cake yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1 c. cold water
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 8 to 9 c. sifted all-purpose flour

Method

  • Soak yeast in lukewarm water.
  • Place butter, sugar and salt in large mixing bowl.
  • Add boiling water to ingredients in bowl. When butter melts, add cold water, eggs and yeast mixture.
  • Stir in flour.
  • Put into well-greased bowl, cover and store in refrigerator. Make up rolls as needed, shaping and allowing them to double in bulk.
  • Bake in preheated oven at 425° for 15 to 20 minutes.
