Ingredients
- 1 cake yeast or 1 pkg. dry yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. warm milk
- 3 c. flour
Method
- Heat oven to 375°.
- Mix yeast and warm water.
- Add sugar, salt, shortening and warm milk.
- Stir well.
- Add eggs and stir.
- Add flour 1 cup at a time.
- Place in greased bowl and cover with towel and let rise in warm place 30 minutes.
- Roll out about 1/2 to 1 inch thick.
- Spread soft oleo on dough, thick.
- Sprinkle with mixture of 3/4 cup sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
- Roll from long side like jelly roll.
- Slice and place on cookie sheet and let rise (covered) for 30 minutes.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Ice with a thin powdered sugar icing.
